Hello~ I've been thinking on questions to ask while reading the FAQ along with other players' questions and your responses. Just wanted to confirm a few things while I'm voicetesting on this month's TDM, please:
  • Is an Amistr allowed for Alashandra's familiar? (References: Homunculus System and Amistr)
    • Alashandra's preferred Homunculus is an Amistr, one of which she created and raised, the both of them experiencing significant character development together. Due to this, I don't expect her to have her specific Amistr, but if allowed I'm assuming it'd be a generic Amistr, and not as controllable as before, either (no Homunculus skills for either Alashandra or the Amistr, no AI customization, etc), something I'm ready to play with since Alashandra still thinks it's her own Amistr for now.

    • Whether the Amistr creature is possible as a familiar at all is a bit more complicated. Generally the answers I've come across have been alright with generic versions so long as they're actually a canonical/mythical creature. The problem is that Homunculi in Ragnarok Online's context are artificial forms of life, born from borrowing the miraculous properties of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, as well as making use of researched secrets of creation. Just as in real life, such a topic is highly controversial within Midgard's countries, and while Alashandra has good intentions in mind (if very specific) while involving herself in this subfield of alchemy, such a creation challenges ethics and morals alike since it's literally "playing as gods".

    • In the case that RO's Homunculi are not allowed as familiars, Alashandra would be able to keep her specific Amistr as a pet, then (of course at the cost of an inventory slot)? Relevant skills would be removed in this case as well, ironically allowing the Amistr to be more natural of a pet than before. There's just one little problem: Homunculi and Pets in general within RO are terribly picky eaters, and each only want to eat a specific "food" unique to Midgard (in Amistr's case, Zargon). Is such food available here, or would we have the Amistr just eat typical goat feed? (Relevant if I decide to bring other pets as well.)

  • I'm planning on Alashandra having Alchemy and Green magics. If that's too convenient, I don't mind her being out of her comfort zone while in Avalon. If the magics are allowed, how much of her skillset would carry over? (References: Alchemist Class Data and Biochemist Class Data (included for possible Canon Updating))
    • More specifically, would she be able to adapt her craft and create Avalon-equivalent versions of the potions she could create back on Midgard, or would she have to relearn her craft from the basics all over again, disregarding the fast-pass perk?

    • Also, do any of the more unique flora and fauna from her world exist here aside from whatever she ends up with for a familiar? Alashandra's capability of recreating her potions 1:1 would greatly depend on the answer to this, though improvising alternate solutions would also be something to play around with... especially with Avalon's alchemy having a wider scope.

    • Assuming she one day canon updates to being a Biochemist through Transcendence and being reborn through Valhalla, Acid Bomb (also known as Acid Demonstration) is a lethal chemical reaction of two potions within the game, with greater potency the more bulked/defensive the target, and was at the time one of the fastest/safest methods of slaying monsters. I'd expect its use to be rare if allowed, unlike how it's possible to use countless times at once in RO, but will it be nerfed even if allowed?
