Non-humans can retain their original form but would not exhibit additional powers/abilities beyond that of a human as they will be given magic. So AI would still be able to be robotic, a zombie could still be a zombie, and so on. But they wouldn't have the ability to do an infrared scan or crush a metal beam with their bear hands, or whatever the applicable species-based abilities would be.
