Potion Name: Antécho (Endure) Description of Effect: Used to make people or objects more resistant to fire. When applied to an object or to skin it prevents burning (including sunburn) and gives a small level of fire resistance, when drunk it gives a greater level, but doesn't last as long. Time Limit: When applied to objects or skin, lasts 2 hours- when drunk, lasts 30 minutes, but has a stronger effect. Anything else? It has a bitter taste.
Potion Name: Creusa Description of Effect: Makes whatever it's put on more flammable. It'll easily catch light when exposed to a flame or source of heat and burn fiercely. Time Limit: It takes about 15 minutes to sink in and become effective, and after that it lasts on that surface for about an hour. Anything else? Be very careful when applying- don't get it on your skin!
Potion Name: Ánoixi (Spring) Description of Effect: Gets stains out of countertops, soft furnishings and wood, leaving the house looking spotless. The scent it leaves behind changes based on the season and it doesn't use any harmful chemicals or components. Time Limit: Fully protects surfaces for about an hour, the scent itself fades over a week or so. Anything else? Comes in a bottle with a handy spray nozzle- just don't confuse it for perfume. The colour of the pale liquid inside changes to match the season, too.
Potion Name: Diorthóno (Mend) Description of Effect: Used to reverse damage and wear from clothing. Specifically, it reverses the state of a garment back to before it was damaged, so it doesn't leave a trace. Time Limit: Larger tears older than a week can't be fully repaired- wear and tear can be fixed later, but the older it is the worse the effects. Anything else? It only works on inanimate objects, so it can't be used to close wounds.
Potion Name: Afypnízo (Awaken) Description of Effect: Prevents the drinker from needing sleep- allowing them to stay awake longer without getting tired or suffering the effects of sleep deprivation. Whilst under its effects it is physically impossible to sleep naturally, even if desired, and it offers some resistance to magic/curses designed to induce sleep. Time Limit: Effects start wearing off after 3 or 4 days, and after about a week the drinker will pass out for around 24 hours unless another dose is drunk. Anything else? Side effects of using this long term haven't been tested yet, but it's probably not good for you. No Sleep means Hypnos can't get me.
Potion Name: Nanourízo (Lull) Description of Effect: Induces the drinker into a deep, dreamless sleep. A simple sleeping draught. Unfortunately it doesn't stop cognitive mages from interfering and the sleeper can't be woken up until it wears off. Time Limit: Depending on the dose it takes between 15 mins - an hour to fall asleep, after which the drinker sleeps for 7-10 hours. Anything else? Side effects of using this long term haven't been tested yet, but it's probably not good for you.
Potion Name: Nýchta (Night) Description of Effect: When drunk, it sharpens the drinker's night vision, allowing them to see as effectively in the dark as during the day. However it does make their eyes more light-sensitive, so bright lights will be dazzling. Time Limit: Effects last around an hour. Anything else? The bottle is sealed with a white bead that almost looks like an eye. Not creepy at all.
Please excuse my amateur-translated Greek names- happy for any suggestions you think are appropriate :)
