Obtainables Glossary & Potion Brewing

QUICK NAV: LOGS ⚔️️ NETWORK ⚔️️ MEMES ⚔️️ OOC ⚔️️ NAVIGATION

⦿ Obtainables Glossary
This page is a glossary to keep track of any items, potions, recipes, and totems introduced in game and where to find them. Note that players can obtain regular items like clothes, dishes, tools, foods, etc. on their own from stores without mod permission. This is just for magical or special obtainables.

⦿ Potion Brewing
Characters can create their own potions if they are of the alchemist class or after obtaining 10 potions from events, quests, or rewards if your character has IC intent to learn the brewing craft. While they can experiment before obtaining 10, it will end in failure or disaster, so feel free to play with that as you please. After obtaining 10 potions in-game, if you would like to create a potion, reply to this post to have a mod review and either accept or deny the creation of the potion. As a general guideline, potions:
  • should not overlap with currently available magics in-game

  • can only have one effect

  • cannot have game-breaking effects

  • have an effective and reasonable time limit

  • Otherwise, have fun with it. To create a potion, reply to this post with the following form and a mod will get back to you as soon as possible:

    Potion Name: Living Dead
Description of Effect: Once ingested, it induces a state akin to one newly dead. Biological life signs are suspended (i.e. no detectable heartbeat or breath) but one's connection to Avalon's magic persists. Brain activity also persists. So, yes, you could feasibly watch yourself being buried or eaten alive. This means a 'detect life' spell could unearth the ruse, and the dowsing pendulum would not be able to find the 'corpse'.
    Time Limit: 1 hour
Anything else? Comes with a warning label that says, "Do not use if you fear being buried alive." (Also it tastes like ash.)

    Potion Name: Final Sting
Description of Effect: A poison which saps strength and induces paralysis. If ingested, effect is immediate. If poisoned via blood (e.g. a scratch), effect is weaker and takes time to circulate.
    Time Limit: 30 minutes - 1 hour
Anything else? It's possible to overdo it and kill yourself (or someone else) with this poison. Please do not use more than the recommended dose.

    Potion Name: Apokathairo
Description of Effect: A restorative potion to ease the effects of most common poisons. Will not remove poison on its own but WILL buy you time to reach a healer.
Time Limit: 15 minutes; effective time reduces with each consecutive dose (MAX. ~30 min)
    Anything else? None

    Potion Name: Chimera's Breath
Description of Effect: Sold as a set of two: The Dragon and The Ram. The Dragon allows one to breathe fire for a short time; The Ram allows one to breathe ice. Users must drink the opposite potion to nullify the former and prevent their mouths from burning/freezing over.
    Time Limit: 15 minutes
Anything else? Whether by oversight or design, there is absolutely no way to tell the two bottles apart.
