canon updates

QUICK NAV: LOGS ⚔️️ NETWORK ⚔️️ MEMES ⚔️️ OOC ⚔️️ NAVIGATION

Please submit the following form for canon updates:

Player Name:
Character Name:
Name of Canon:
New Canon Point: Episode, chapter, event title, whatever best describes it. This should be less than 5 words.
Are there any large characterization changes that would change how you play this character in Isle of Avalon? If so, explain them. Do not write a full history of your character's canon.
New Learned Skills: Powers may be nerfed, but if your character learned a new human-level skill, they are welcome to retain those gains in Avalon.
Anything Else? Is there anything else you think we should know in addition to the above information?

Please submit the following form for CRAU updates:
Player Name:
Character Name:
Name of Canon:
CRAU Game(s): You can do multiple DWRP games if your character went to them. List in chronological order.
New CRAU Update Info: Provide history and any changes in perspective/personality that your character has experienced. We do not have access to all games and threads to know what occurred, so please include all information. Remember that mods do not have access to all other games/threads you had, so if this section includes jargon you would only know if you were in the game, be sure to provide context and definitions.
New Learned Skills: Powers may be nerfed, but if your character learned a new human-level skill in the game you are CRAUing them from, they are welcome to retain those gains in Avalon.
Anything Else? Is there anything else you think we should know in addition to the above information?

REMINDERS:
  • Canon updates occur ICly in the following manner:
Because time is frozen outside of Avalon, canon updates will be more like memory rebuilds. Your character was simply lacking current memories, which their familiar noticed and puts your character to sleep for a full day to attempt to re-strengthen their bond with the character to help them regain those memories. This can happen as many times as the player wants.
This means that characters do not gain new inventory upon canon updates. If you would like to gain new items from your canon updates, please see the rewards page for more information about Home Regains.

  • To update to new canon content, the new content must be at least 1 month old. This is to respect other players who may not have had the chance to play, watch, or read new content yet. After 1 month, we still ask that you mark spoilers accordingly.

  • Mods have the right to nerf any skill gains if they are deemed to be more along the lines of powers/magic or would somehow be worldbreaking. As far as we can tell, any human-level skills would not be able to do that, so this is mostly just a disclaimer in case something comes up that we didn't think of.

  • If your character would've gained new scars/height/other physical appearance changes in a canon update, you can choose to have Avalon's natural magic update it for them while they sleep so you can still have body alterations even though your character doesn't leave.

    PLAYER NAME: Candace
    CHARACTER: Yusuke Kitagawa
    CANON: Persona 5
    NEW CANON POINT: Post-Strikers
INFORMATION: Yusuke got to go on a road trip all over Japan, and was well-fed the entire time. He cried tears of joy about it often and gained many new sources of artistic inspiration, the end.

A slightly more serious synopsis: Yusuke joined the rest of the Phantom Thieves in working together with a police inspector, Zenkichi Hasegawa, to prove their innocence surrounding a series of mysterious change of heart incidents spawning all over Japan. Although distrustful of the police and later publically framed for crimes they didn't commit, the Thieves befriended Zenkichi and were able to work together with him and a mysterious AI named Sophia to expose the true culprits.

In Yusuke's arc in particular, he took charge of the efforts to overturn the Monarch of the Jail in Sendai. In doing so, he was able to help a plagiarising author who took advantage of his fans turn his creative career around and start over.

A complete plot synopsis can be found on the SMT wiki here.

    CHARACTER: Sasara Nurude
    CANON: Hypnosis Mic

NEW CANON POINT: Post-Aikata(s) Back Again; Dotsuitare Hompo VS Buster Bros!!!
INFORMATION: Sasara and Rosho have a heart-to-heart about their past, instigated by Rei, and after a serious rap battle between these two former-and-again partners, they find themselves with more honesty between them. Sasara grants Rei’s ambiguously helpful ways a little more faith as well.

Concerning the larger picture of D.R.B. prep back home, the road to the 2nd D.R.B. is paved and DH — as well as being shown onto the field and to the other divisions — have competed in preliminary battles together, know they’ll be up against Buster Bros!!! in the first round.

    CHARACTER: Rei Amayado
    CANON: Hypnosis Mic
NEW CANON POINT: After the drama tracks Aikata(s) Back Again and Life is What You Make It; before the Buster Bros vs Dotsuitare Hompo division rap battle match
    INFORMATION:
General Summary: Rei, recognizing that his teammates Rosho and Sasara have personal hang-ups preventing them from being their best selves, encourages (and, okay, harasses) them into confronting themselves and each other so they can move forward as a team and face the upcoming division battle head-on.
Meanwhile, the two youngest Yamada brothers are struggling with the revelation that Rei is their father, as it undermines their trust in their oldest sibling Ichiro for lying to them that their father was dead. Saburo in particular seeks Rei out for answers about him and about their mother, but ultimately decides he doesn't want it just handed to him and will continue to trust in his oldest brother and himself without relying on Rei.

The important changes for Rei: became closer with his teammates; and now recognizes that Ichiro is doing a good enough job with his siblings, so Rei can lay off trying to scoop them out from under him. (LMAO)

    PLAYER NAME: Daisy
    CHARACTER: Rosho Tsutsujimori
    CANON: Hypnosis Mic
NEW CANON POINT: Post Aikata(s) Back Again drama track
INFORMATION: After Dotsuitare Hompo gets through the preliminary battle with Rosho's insecurities and stage fright once again being an issue, Rei confronts Rosho and Sasara with the issue regarding their relationship. Sasara refuses to accept there's a problem while Rosho struggles with believing they can get by as they currently are. Rei has a heart-to-heart talk with each of them individually, Rosho acknowledges his own hang-ups in regards to how he handles the weight of expectation, and decides he's not going allow himself to believe he's lesser than Sasara. The two coincidentally meet on Tsutenkaku tower where they have a one on one rap battle against each other. While Rosho loses, it reaffirms to the two of them that he has what it takes to stay by Sasara's side and continue to work together. Rei stumbles upon the two of them, and after the two thank Rei for his assistance, they all decide they're now ready and intend to win the DRB.

Long story short: Rosho's still got shitty stage fright but he has more faith in his own abilities, trusts his reformed partnership with Sasara much more strongly, and has even gotten a glimpse of some of Rei's own weaknesses and humanity, helping to strengthen their bond as a team.

    TL;DR CRAU UPDATE

    [personal profile] bakudan_bambino 2021-04-19 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
    PLAYER NAME: Robin
    CHARACTER: Hayato Gokudera
    CANON: Katekyou Hitman Reborn
NEW CANON POINT: CRAU Canon point jump to the end of Chapter 282. CRAU TL;DR Gokudera is being pulled from the end of the Ten Years Later Arc. After a trip to the future, he should be returning to his own time. He didn't. I threw him in a sex game for roughly two years, then took a two year hiatus, then met Cian and brought him into Redshift with his CRAU. So... he's been in two games. I have a ton of info for all of it... I think it's safe to assume he's got to be 18 years old by now, or has the mind of one.
INFORMATION: Okay you asked for it...
Gokudera spent 21 months on Amoi, in a game called Tanagura, where he was deemed a mongrel simply by his hair color, placed in the slums, and could have returned to his home world if he could only earn enough bytes (the currency) to do so. Gokudera experienced a lot of discrimination, stepped in to stop some hate crimes, and generally spent most of his stay looking for his family, and helping as a nurse in a clinic in an area predominantly run by other mongrels.

CRAU History: Gokudera was property twice on Amoi, and lived comfortably as such until his first Pet Contract expired. The second loss occurred when his owner left the game. Considering Tanagura was a sex-game, Gokudera had to get close to many different people, and he actually learned to get along with others for his own benefit and happiness. He worked in the slums of Midas, so saw his fair share of death and illness regularly. He'd been abducted by the Black Market to have his organs harvested, fought back and broke out many captives, and grew attached to some Elites who all eventually left the game. He'd fought back against law-enforcement to protect bystanders in a riot, and attempted to take down the Elites' malfunctioning, high-tech (robotic, if I remember correctly) authorities when they went berserk in the golden city of Tanagura. Gokudera did his best to keep out of politics in the game (mostly because plot information was rewarded OOC as AC Rewards), because he wanted to rely on his boss. Sawada Tsunayoshi was on Tanagura briefly and took seemingly no political action. He also provided his right-hand man with no direction other than to help others and take care of himself. Tsuna's goal was to get every one of his friends back home.

In this midst of Gokudera being very emo about his existence, I brought him to Redshift. Where he ran into Yamamoto Takeshi on a space cruise ship. Considering his past relations with three other Yamamotos, he wasn't eager to act affectionate, and was still wearing his pet ring (a half choke dog collar on his neck) on his neck. The jump between worlds caused the technology in it to malfunction until he was able to have another character look at it and reset the voice commands that would either cause the collar to make him feel pain or pleasure.

Yamamoto Takeshi is still programmed as Gokudera's owner through the collar. Yamamoto discovered he was his owner when I... had Gokudera killed during a zombie invasion, and he removed it with a fingerprint scan.

Gokudera was revived with injuries sustained both from the zombie attack and from Tanagura (so he has extensive burn scars on his back since he set himself on fire from the inside out, and in Tanagura he was thrown into a burning building while he was wearing dynamite).

CRAU Development: After a year in Tanagura, Gokudera began believing he was a native to the planet of Amoi. He became more angry with Elites, and would tend to avoid them given how he'd seen the only ones he'd like leave him. Growing attached to anyone became dangerous to Gokudera on Amoi, and so in the later half of his stay in the game (9 months), he reverted to his lone-wolf tendencies. His personality didn't change drastically, but he did grow more guarded against Elites (anyone with black, brown, purple, blue, or green hair).

Gokudera had been made aware of the brainwashing of transplant citizens via another character's network post, and was advised to keep a journal. When he started to have memories that led him to believe he was an Amoi native, he reached out to his castmates, read through his journal, and learned to doubt his memories. He does not believe he is a native to Amoi, and will not upon his arrival on Anchor, but he will slip up as his real memories from Earth take back over.

Also, considering Tanagura was a sex game, Gokudera learned to tolerate other people. However, after being thrown in jail, drugged, and interrogated for being close to an Elite, he became more careful around them. He readily avoids and/or flinches if there's a possibility of cross-caste touching.

With nearly a year in Redshift, Gokudera is much more affectionate with Yamamoto, but still relatively shy and careful around others. Most of the influence on him was from Tanagura, as Redshift has become a sandbox game now, and activity there has declined.

    PLAYER NAME: Joou
    CHARACTER: Jyuto Iruma
    CANON: Hypnosis Mic
NEW CANON POINT: CRAU Post Prismatica ([community profile] prismatica) and "A Dream... For Good or Evil" Drama CD.
    INFORMATION:

Jyuto will now regain memories taken from Prismatica, where he spent about one year's time before the game closing. There, even in a new world, he reestablished himself within the criminal justice system in order to continue his vendetta against drugs. He climbed to an equal position as himself in his canon (Sergeant of Organized Crime Department) through corrupted means. He hired and bribed many player characters in order to advance his career.

Due to the sexual premise of the game, the relationships and bonds to his fellow teammates of MAD TRIGGER CREW were strengthened and brought even closer by intimate means. He grew very close with Riou, who he later felt himself becoming territorial of despite the nature of their environment. The Samatoki that he'd once become physically intimate with disappeared, and a new one arrived without memory of ever having been in the world. That, alongside other witnessed events, lead Jyuto to some sense of self awareness, and he suspects that there may be parallel worlds out there with multiple versions of the same existing characters. He took it upon himself to try and keep the new Samatoki from becoming overwhelmed by the new world in honor of the former Samatoki, but his efforts didn't last long as the game reached its end.

From there, he was returned to his home world where he lost memory of Prismatica and found himself thrust back into the plot of his canon. After being manipulated by a woman of Chuo-ku named Honobono to erase unwanted characters from positions of governmental power, he started to prepare for the 2nd Division Rap Battle, agreeing to help Riou in his secret mission to free Lieutenant Iojaku from Chuo-ku's special prison. Before the results can be determined, he'll find his consciousness rushing to a body of himself in Avalon. After this point, he'll have regained memories of three different worlds: Prismatica, his homeworld, and from Avalon when he had yet to recall anything.

    CHARACTER: Riou Mason Busujima
    CANON: Hypnosis Mic
NEW CANON POINT: Prismatica CRAU + A Dream... for good or evil Drama Track (released 3/24) spoilers in info
    INFORMATION:
Riou was in Prismatica for a long while and as he's a man who fulfills his mission, he adopted Prismatica's mission of restoring the world through chroma generation. This resulted in a lot of smut given Prisma's sexual nature, and opened Riou up to sexual content much more than he ever had been at home. (Since he doesn't seem particularly interested in relationships of any kind much in canon.) Samatoki and Riou started a lawn-mowing business, which eventually fell through after the loss of Samatoki. Jyuto had arrived however, and Riou's focus had come on supporting him using his skills as a hacker and, in an attempt to surprise Jyuto when Jyuto had asked for his requisite skillset before knowing he had it (pre-canon update at the time in which Riou reveals it to MTC), he had anonymously contacted Jyuto under the use of his military call sign "SOLON"-- before he could confess to his identity, however, he learned a terrible secret and continued to offer distant support for Jyuto that he believed Jyuto did not wish to seek directly from Riou. This included shooting a serial killer in the arm and generally protecting him after learning of Jyuto's death in-game. Another notable point in time was the rap battle between Mad Trigger Crew and Fling Posse, which MTC won. Riou gained two important CR for him from this experience: Hijikata, an ally/sex partner in Prismatica and a rocky acquaintance in Avalon because of Riou's lack of memory, while Hijikata maintained it, and Serge-- a young man that Riou had taken to mentoring in a number of survival and cooking techniques, which helped him gain a sense of focus and responsibility beyond the Prismatica Mission and MTC. He also befriended a fair number of the other division members, in particular Hifumi, who he has found he has a lot in common with despite their very different personalities.

Riou reconnected with Kubiki from his military days and shared intelligence with him regarding Chuuoku. The two made plans for Riou to break Commander Iojaku out of the special prison, which will require Mad Trigger Crew to win the second Division Rap Battle. In assisting Jyuto with a mission, he defeats and interrogates a corrupt Chuuoku member named Tsumabira and gathers new intel about the special prison. After the mission is over, Riou shares his plans with MTC and tells them that he will go rogue so they don't get in trouble, but Samatoki says their destinies are entwined and they're basically going to live and die together no matter what and Jyuto agrees.

    PLAYER NAME: Laena
CHARACTER: Eustace | [personal profile] flamekthunder
    CANON: Granblue Fantasy
NEW CANON POINT: Post Home Sweet Moon including his 5* uncap episodes
INFORMATION: TLDR: Operation "Save Isaac and Cassius from the Moon" goes incredibly awry and a giant automagod could have wrecked and annihilated the world if not for Eustace being able to pew pew super lightning into its entire body to basically melt it. He also got to get vengeance for what happened to his homeland and can now finally move on, relax, and crack a smile more often instead being Mr. Broody Grumps Sourpuss all the time.

Event Synopsis/Highlights[SPOILERS]: After receiving the distress call from Isaac to save Cassius on the moon, an operation was initiated to create a cosmoship (an airship that could go to space) to rescue them and bring them back. Eustace and Ilsa were assigned to lead the operation with Mahira, one of the Divine Generals, their lead R&D as she could work with Isaac to figure out how to design and work with the technology that would get them up there using the three remaining automagods. A new weapon seal contractor, Gwynne, joins the group and Grace is finally defeated. Otherworlders are in the mix as they also want a piece of that "sticking it to the Moon" pie but Ilsa rips apart their leader so they back off for now. Another complication in this rescue operation is there is a planned attack from the moon and Eustace and Ilsa have yet to awaken their seal weapons, however they first focus on getting Isaac and Cassius back.

Using the automagods and remote piloting, they are able to get to the moon, fight off two members of Omega-3 (the strongest warriors on the moon) and meet with the men. Isaac has been through a lot as he had to pretend to be on the moon's side and conduct experiments with Cassius's brain and memories, including making clones of Cassius which the pilots had to fight through. However, the pod they brought was not properly sealed so Isaac would not be able to survive and only Cassius would be able to go through. Isaac sends Cassius back—however it's not the real one but one of the clones. The real Cassius remained on the moon to help Isaac find a way to get back home. They go through a lot, including witnessing the formation of Diaspora, the final automagod the moon society ever built, Raybury's sacrifice to save the two men, and Gwynne revealing to be Isaac's sister. Diaspora is huge, capable of coiling itself completely around the moon and must be sent piece meal to the Sky Realm where it would reassemble itself before wrecking everything. Although the men are unable to stop Diaspora's launch completely, the return of an unlikely ally, Yatima (with Raybury on her head), destroys the launcher. She is able to send Isaac and Cassius back to the Sky Realm.

Meanwhile on the Sky Realm, the Society group hear about Diaspora and have only about three days to prepare. Pressure is on Eustace as his weapon, Flamek, has anti-aerial abilities, but its lightning is strong enough to deal constant damage to prevent the automagod's regenerative capabilities. However he is unable to awaken the weapon until he becomes honest with himself and his emotions, something that doesn't happen until he encounters one of the former Society leaders, Heisenberg. From him he learns the truth of what led to the completely destruction of his hometown and loss of his family. He almost kills the man but Ronan, another leader and mentor, stops him and takes Heisenberg into custody. Ronan reminds Eustace that while revenge had been his original motivation, he has something different now—protecting the people he cares about.

It takes a little time, but Eustace settles the conflict in his heart and is able to awaken Flamek. With everyone regeared to protect them from Flamek's lightning damage, they head to where Diaspora will land to prepare the countermeasures. Vaseraga faces off the third member of Omega-3 and Eustace comes in at the last minute to save him. However that leaves the Captain, Zeta, and Beatrix to fend off Diaspora until he returns. Once he arrives, they back off and he unleashes the fully awakened Flamek, shooting cannon blasts of lightning into the air to fry and melt the automagod. Unable to regenerate, it crashes to the ground defeated. Isaac and Cassius are also in the sky and they are forced to jump out, but manage to land safely thanks to a little help from Tiamat. Cassius ensures Disapora never starts again and after the wounded heal, they have a celebratory dinner.

As for Eustace, he is able to confront Heisenberg and under Ronan's "command," he eliminates Heisenberg, settling his vengeance once and for all. Afterwards, he takes Captain, Lyria, and Vyrn to where his village used to be and tells them his past. An Otherworlder appears and poses as his younger brother, but he eliminates it. After that he finally returns "home": the Grandcypher and the crew who belongs to it.

CHANGES: With his vengeance settled, Eustace is able to move on and can now really walk that path towards peace and quiet. He's still his usual serious self, but he's more relaxed and loosened up a bit, which means he'll be a little bit less standoffish and a little friendlier compared to before. This will allow him to worry a bit less about his world and can live in Avalon with a bit more ease and focus on the setting. He is also capable of awakening Flamek to its full power and transforming to its awakened form. It's a physical transformation where it separates and expands its outer barrel to allow the larger blasts of lightning. However in Avalon this won't happen due to nerfs.

QUESTION: Just to be sure, despite Eustace being able to resonate and still have that emotional connection with Flamek in Avalon, it won't be able to do the physical transformation even if it isn't capable of generating lightning on its own, correct? And even if Eustace channels his magic into Flamek to allow it to shoot lightning again, the strength of those attacks are dependent on Eustace's magic, not the connection between him and the gun? Just want to be sure that no help from the gun is allowed to strengthen attacks.

    CHARACTER: Weiss Schnee
    CANON: RWBY
NEW CANON POINT: Volume 8, Episode 14, after Blake and Ruby fall
INFORMATION: All episodes of volume 8 actually happen in just about a day or so, and it's a direct continuation of Volume 7. In turn, the whole "canon update" Weiss will end up having is just one day forward into the future.

Volume 7 ends with RWBY and their friends wanted by the Atlas Military for not cooperating with General Ironwood. Volume 8 begins with them hiding in Mantle to come up with a plan. They don't seem to agree on what to do, and they end up splitting into two groups and going their separate ways. Weiss' group tries to infiltrate the Atlas Military base to be able to get communications for all kingdoms up and running again. Things don't go exactly as planned, and they end up having to go back to the Schnee manor to hide and nurse Nora back to health. Eventually, after much trouble and a lot of hiccups, they all reunite and create a plan to save the people of Atlas and Mantle from Salem.

There isn't much development on Weiss' end throughout the volume, but the canon update is more for her to gain knowledge of what's to come. She does, however, find herself on better terms with her brother whom she'd disliked for a long time since she knows he dislikes her, too. She'll also still have the knowledge that her father is alive, and that her teammates (Ruby, Blake, and Yang) are likely dead. It's something that she'll be processing in the game!

    CANON: RWBY
NEW CANON POINT: post volume 8
INFORMATION: Very briefly, she learned that Salem wanted to end the world, wasn't cool with it, told Mercury who didn't believe her until Tyrian was like lol she's right?? Duh. Then Mercury got put on a bus to Vacuo with Tyrian. She went to eavesdrop on Hazel and Oscar, met Jinn, then Hazel just was like we're busting y'all out. Buckle up kids. Except you know, JYR were busting in to rescue Oscar while Emerald and Oscar were busting out, then Neo stole the relic and they all got busted. Hazel sacrificed himself to temporarily take out Salem and give them a chance to escape by taking Ozpin's kinetic cane laser beam to the face. Emerald allows herself to get taken hostage by Yang (and I say allows since she had smoke escape potential and intentionally stayed) and eventually joins the good guys after deciding that it was stupid that they were like thinking about giving up right after she swapped sides. She cute. Then they did the plan and she kicked Ironwood in the face and stole his gun-gun. Along with Oscar and Ren, she helps evacuate the people of Atlas to Vacuo, where they're met with Grimm and a bad time.

    CHARACTER: Momo Yaoyorozu
    CANON: My Hero Academia
NEW CANON POINT: Season 5, Episode 11* -PLUS- [community profile] maskormenace CRAU
INFORMATION: Between her prior canon point and the new one, not much has happened for Momo. The seasons have changed (it is now winter), and she has continued to train and learn to become a hero. Her class (1-A) had a joint training exercise that was a competition against their rival class (1-B), wherein Momo's match lost, but her class won overall. She did, however, get a chance to show off her new ultimate move!

The more substantial part of her canon update is over one and a half years spent in an alternate universe America, being a hero, fighting villains, and enduring all sorts of weird crap that happened month after month. Momo learned to live on her own, both with and without her friends from home, as she "ported" in and out of this universe between April 2018 and January 2021. She apprenticed at both a criminal law firm and a blacksmithing shop, as well as being a trainee member of a league of superheroes from across the multiverse! She had a number of strange superpowers (in addition to her canon Quirk), which made her life strange, but interesting.

Towards the end of her stay, she was "ported" to another alternate universe America, where she inhabited the body of her alternate self, a Momo who had been living in a dystopian wasteland since 2010, who was 10 years older and had a lot more grey in her morals. This Momo used her expanded Quirk for her own personal gain, rather than using it to help others. She took advantage of other people to get a leg up in a cut-throat society of glitz and glamour. She had abandoned the hero name "Creati" and had started using the moniker "Thesis," named after the primordial Greek goddess of creation. She was ruthless, and cunning, and after the experience, even though Momo didn't remember most of this alternate life, she was left with strange dreams and a lingering sense of unease, as her Quirk mysteriously expanded to match the one her alternate self had, and allowed her to draw upon the fat cells from other people's bodies, instead of just her own. Momo was left to wrestle with the moral quandaries of when it would be justified to use other people's bodies, and how to balance her desire to be good with the more nefarious aspects of this new ability.

*I don't know if this will count towards the 1 month rule, as the anime episode aired a week ago, but the manga arc has been out for some time.

    CHARACTER: Bakugou Katsuki
    CANON: My Hero Academia
    NEW CANON POINT: Ch 310

    INFORMATION:

Mostly the stuff that has "changed" for Bakugou is the fallout of the War Arc. When we last left our hero, he had been with others fighting against Shigaraki. Things are not looking good since they can't seem to actually get anywhere. Shigaraki regenerates too fast. So Deku goes full on pissed and All For One kind of hijacks Shirgagki. The major thing for Katsuki here is that he takes a pretty serious blow for Deku. Shoves him out of the way from getting snagged, but unfortunately he's pierced through the gut and shoulder. Deku loses it completely and Todoroki catches Baku before he can fall.

    DABI REVEAL.

Nothing that happens until Bakugou comes too again is relevant had he kind of has something of a Quirk evolution. He continues to strike back as he can despite being in a seriously injured state. Jeanist and other pro heroes show up as well as Iida and some other students. Right about then Baku reveals his actual hero name - and it's tacky. But at the end of the day, the villains all get away and Bakugou passes out again.

When he comes to, he's in the hospital. Again, despite being seriously injured and not not allowed to move around, he tries to see Deku who is still in a bad way and hasn't woken up. He also tries to find out what happened to everyone. His classmates take charge and bring him back to his room by force. Though the next chapters focus on the Todoroki family and Izuku, by 310 his family has moved into UA. Deku has left UA and left letters for everyone - and Bakugou's refused to read the one left to him. Japan isn't in a good state since All For One has done a nationwide jailbreak and people are losing their faith in heroes. Some people are quitting or retiring.

A lot more has "happened" but these are the parts that Bakugou would know about.

    PLAYER NAME: Mich
    CHARACTER: Midoriya Izuku
    CANON: My Hero Academia
NEW CANON POINT: Manga chapter 306 (including a flashback in chapter 309 that would have taken place in 306.)
    INFORMATION:

Izuku left off during the War Arc in the middle of his battle against Shigaraki, All For One (AFO), and the Paranormal Liberation Front. Here, Izuku was in the midst of trying to keep All For One and the man from getting to the others and attacking One For All (OFA). At the same time, Izuku finally utilizes his training with Katsuki, Tsuyu, Ochako, and Sero to master his new quirk, Float.

During this time Izuku witnesses Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugou and Hero Endeaver closing in on the fight to help as Izuku is already in critical condition. During the onslaught and Izuku's desperation to stop Shigaraki Izuku yells, "I'm the Deku who always does his best!!" and proceeds with another attack. This one is almost his last if it's not for Endeavor intercepting one attack and Katsuki blocking another with his body, getting pierced through several times by the attack. While falling, Katsuki says, "Stop trying to win this on your own."

At this point Izuku almost losses his mind and control of himself. AFO takes advantage of this moment and attempts to seize control of both OFA and Izuku. But at that moment one of the previous users of OFA Nana Shimura is able to manifest and subdue AFO from doing so. Because of this Izuku and Shigaraki fall into a stalemate and Izuku passes out.

Meanwhile, heroes start to arrive on the scene for backup.

At this time Izuku's limbs are all broken. But upon waking he is able to use Black Whip from his mouth thanks to training with Tsuyu. He also gains access to his new quirk, Danger Sense. And it is here that Izuku realizes that All For One is actually using and consuming Shigaraki and that underneath he may be a boy that was misguided and used his whole life. This is a pivotal moment where Izuku realizes that perhaps Shigaraki is in need of saving from AFO just as much as the rest of them are. Here, he notes that "You looked like you needed saving." as Shigaraki is attempted to be evacuated by Mr. Compress.

Upon the end of the battle, several Villains are captured but several have escaped. Shigaraki was not successfully apprehended and is placed in a holding facility. In the aftermath, several casualties and several pro heroes are prone to quitting after the war, leaving their numbers lower than ever. Izuku's teacher Midnight has passed in the battle.

Meanwhile, Izuku is in a coma and attempting to recover. In his sleep, he is visited by the entire group of previous users of OFA. Izuku learns that the reason why Izuku might be the one to finally stop AFO for good is the fact that he is born quirkless. In the past, all the other users died young due to the quirk using up their life. But All Might and Izuku both seem to resist this as they were both born quirkless. Izuku will not age quickly due to this fact. But OFA is coming to the pinnacle of its power because of the cultivation it has had over the years so Izuku may be the final user of OFA and might be able to truly defeat AFO. It is revealed that Shigaraki is actually Nana Shimura's grandson as Nana askes Izuku if he can truly kill the man to stop him. Here, Izuku takes his stand that he will save Shigaraki rather than killing him and it is only then that OFA fully accepts Izuku as its final wielder. At this point, Izuku is tasked with learning the remaining of his quirks from the previous users.

Upon waking up from his coma Izuku decides he cannot let anyone else get hurt because of him. AFO is clearly targetting Izuku now and he knows that AFO will be coming for him. And he does not want to be near his family or friends when this happens. Because of this Izuku decides that it would be best for him to leave school and leave his family in order to give them that safe distance. Izuku knows he is the sole person to be able to stop Shigaraki and end AFO once and for all. And he decides he will not let anyone else get hurt in that path.

Canon point stops right before he has written letters to his classmates why he is gone, detailing OFA and AFO and the truth behind Izuku's quirk. And just days before he actually leaves school but is contemplating and preparing for it.

    MHA Canon Update Bandwagon

    [personal profile] facepalmchampion 2021-08-10 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
    PLAYER NAME: Cytes
    CHARACTER: Tomura Shigaraki
    CANON: My Hero Academia
NEW CANON POINT: Somewhere circa chapter 320, I may as well throw those numbers on there for maximum 👍.
INFORMATION: In canon the most significant things are spoilers so, beyond this point are spoilers for... not *recent* manga but recent within the lines of FAQ alottment of updates/time. AFO = All For One who is Shigaraki's adoptive father.

After the huge fight with all the heroes, he's found himself nicely taken over by AFO who has been parasyting off his body releasing villains and doing all sorts of stuff while the League of Villains is forced to either not follow Shigarki who's in there somewhere, or leave. It doesn't seem like the remaining members are willing to either a) get merced by AFO for trying to leave, or b) leave at all even if most of them aren't happy as made obvious by spinner.
So how I figure I'm going to do this here, since I can't and don't want to play the parasyte part of this is to just have him be at least happy that here he isn't being meat puppeted by his adopted father. That wasn't what he was promised and I can't imagine Shigaraki is thrilled by the prospect considering he also said in canon that it was his power now and AFO should pop on off somewhere else. Didn't happen and now he is aforementioned meatpuppet.

Thankfully here, no meatpuppeting and even if an AFO apped, there'd be no meatpuppeting as static. Just Shigaraki upset about it happening and minus two of his best men finding out that one of them was killed and the other fun tidbits about Dabi/etc. Should the moderator(s?) have any questions about playing or the like please ask I am only too happy to answer if I'm not entirely clear on it for someone.

Further I'm going to be including his CRAU memories from MoM for ease of play, and a few thrown in from a game he was in after that'll help solidify maybe joining in more of the other ways to reach his goals. As it is, right now, he's too bent out of shape about how pansy this place is. I am in no position, personally, yet to take on the role of trying to a) overthrow something or b) navigate that somehow and not actually have it happen. With his memories from MoM it'll make it a lot less likely all he does is fixate on the heroes that are here in his world because that's the fixation in his canon point-- well it's his adopted father's fixation and to some extent I definitely think it would be his own if he acted on his own.

That isn't tos ay I'm not going to do a) or b) or even c) suddenly his cast doesn't matter. They do and they're friends of mine who I wouldn't treat like garbage like that just to canon update lol. That's where the memories come in as well. With an AU event that saw him having to work with the people that he otherwise hated, he got to see a lot about them, too. He already knows everything about them but living and watching people die, or be in life threatening situations and have your back (even with differences in methodology) certainly seems to have an impact on how you treat people. There was more to do in non-AU MoM land, too, where the setting itself was just like home and they weren't exactly large fries to be given a damn about. In fact, enough that Ochako had become someone he actively spoke with or went to visit. In some cases, he even went out when he thought she was in danger.

Of course, his attachment was a platonic one and one more like seeing how Toga grew up to summarize it, along with her bubbly personality and attempts at trying to understand him or his side of things in this less heated place-- Yeah it helped him mellow out and try to focus on the bigger things. Eventually he became a huge mogul of a gaming company by day and a crime syndicate by night. He met his goals and trounced them. I think that'll play nicely into the system of heirarcy here because at current he just feels like it's playing into a system he doesn't care about. Maybe if he had memory of how good he did in a world that was otherwise run by superheroes, he'd be a little better about it. I want him to care because I care but I can't throw him suddenly into it when he's been opposing all the things ever lately lol.

Aside all that, he did manage to get closer to the League of Villains, and his roommate, that were currently there and will most specifically miss said room mate. Yeah he'll be pretty mad about Twice, but I think it'll balance out once he gets his head on straight after all these mash of memories and dealing with the AFO slight betrayal thing. He doesn't have decay here and so I think that'll be a good tipping point for him to have to throw himself into magic again. With Toga here he won't want someone to kill her too, despite what he probably says lol.

When MoM was closed, I took him to a short lived game that put him in post apocalyptic, you-can't-save-yourself-just-because-you-have-decay, monster world. He'll be damn happy to be where he is right now. It also plays into his self defense, so it'll help for sure.

    TL;DR
What changes? Not much, just changes that'll help him play nicer, not fixate on something specifically and get him better toward the setting.

These changes are going to summate to him being more proactive within the setting and hopefully less concerned with just the heroes. That's not going away, of course, like I mentioned, that doesn't just leave, but it'll help where the canon update is concerned.

Balancing all these things together will be fun!

The players currently in game that will be most directly affected by this, is Bakugo and Ochako. I contacted Bakugo today to tell them (read as talk their ear off, the poor saint) and Ochako's player is being a responsible human going to bed. They already know I'm not going to force CRAU on them in ways they're uncomfortable with, if at all.

I think I covered everything but I assure you that I will strike any CRAU issues off my list once I make sure to talk to both players and if the update is okayed I will talk to them again to let them know and see how they wanna handle it!

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    PLAYER NAME: Frudence
    CHARACTER: Hitoshi Shinsou
    CANON: My Hero Academia
NEW CANON POINT: Ch. 216 / Ep. 100
    INFORMATION:
Forest Training Camp Arc - While the main cast are training in the Forest with the Wild Wild Pussycats, Aizawa / Eraserhead approached Shinsou and offered to start training him. During the Sports Festival, Aizawa recognized the same potential - and limitations - in Shinsou that Aizawa himself had: his Quirk is incredibly powerful, but it's all mental, and doesn't help him if he gets into close-quarters fighting. "How effective this Quirk is... is up to me" comes up quite often.

Therefore, Aizawa gave Shinsou the opportunity to start learning how to use the "Capture Weapon" around his neck, the whip-like fighting style as well as immobilization technique. This intramural training has the added benefit of helping Shinsou bulk up physically and enhance his reaction time.

Provisional Hero License Exam Arc - Nothing significant. Shinsou begins his 2nd semester at UA alongside General Studies 1-C and continues training outside of class with Aizawa.

U.A. School Festival Arc - Shinsou's class spends the time designing a Haunted House, which brings him a bit closer to his General Studies classmates at the same time he is working to leave them "behind" in order to change to the Hero Course. While this weighs on his mind, he doesn't waver in his goal. His final contribution on the day of the Festival includes popping down from a ceiling in the Haunted House with blood dripping from him.

Joint Training Arc - He has a major role here. The basis of this arc is giving all of Class 1-A and Class 1-B a chance to fight head-to-head. Broken down into 4-man teams, each team from 1-A (the main characters) would get to fight a team from 1-B. The fight simulated each team aiming to capture the members of the other team, as if they were Villains, so 4 captures was a win.

In the midst of this training, Shinsou is re-introduced to 1-A and 1-B along with a condition that the teachers have come up with: Shinshou's performance during this training would determine Shinsou's fitness to enter the Hero Course, but Shinsou would be the only person who had to fight twice. He had to fight with a team from 1-A and a team from 1-B. Additionally, while the rest of the students had a full prototype of Hero gear to wear during the training, Shinsou didn't have a costume - just granted the use of 2 items. One was the Capture Weapon, and another was the only customized Item that could be made for him on short notice: Persona Cords. (*He already has both of these in Avalon, but he didn't know what they were for.)

The full breakdown of the fights - and what Shinsou learned from them - can be found on his Wiki page, but there were several key takeaways that affect his personality going forward:
    • While still a classic tsundere, there were several small moments of praise from individual members of Class 1-A and 1-B, helping bolster his confidence. They all boiled down to "You're not as behind as you think you are." More to the point, his determination for improvement helped him start to catch up.
    • Shinsou has been very focused on individual performance. So when his team wins the first match, he thinks they carried him. When his team loses the second fight, in part because Shinsou gets captured, he blames himself. This is the difference that "experience" (in real combat scenarios) makes, he realizes, but it also puts into perspective his capacity as a Support-style Hero, rather than being what he's not good at: a front-line fighter. This Support role requires more teamwork and less brusqueness, which starts to open Shinsou up to friendship opportunities within 1-A and 1-B, rather than seeing them only as rivals to be jealous of.
    • Instead of only using his Quirk against opponents, Shinsou gets to see how using his Quirk on an ally can retake control of a situation rapidly spiraling out of control, such as an unpredictable Quirk rampage. This gives him insight into one of the major tenants of Hero work: you don't just fight Villains, you also need to save lives.
    • The importance of mentorship and experience. To learn from every single encounter and improve is a good trait in a Hero, but taking advantage of those willing to support you is as well. In lieu of Aizawa, if he can find another mentor, then he should.

The last thing Shinsou is aware of, the teachers declare that he performed well enough to enter the Hero Course, fulfilling Shinsou's dream in a way that leaves him positively stunned. He returns to Avalon later that day.

    PLAYER NAME: Jude
    CHARACTER: Tohru Honda
    CANON: Fruits Basket
    NEW CANON POINT: S3, Ep1 (2019 anime)
INFORMATION: Since season 2, quite a few things have passed. Tohru's met new Zodiac members and has had a rather serious confrontation with the head of the Sohma family.

During the trip to the beach, Akito decides to crash the Sohma vacation and summon the family members one by one, eventually leaving Tohru alone with Kyo, who she spends some quality time with. However, he eventually gets asked to join the other family members, leaving Tohru alone. During her time at the beach, she also eventually meets the horse of the Zodiac Curse, Rin Sohma. Eventually, Akito decides to visit Tohru and confronts her with how they really feel about her. Tohru finds out that Akito is the "God" in the Zodiac Curse, ultimately making it so Akito is the one who has the final say in everything involved in the Sohma family. She realizes that this is what the members of the Sohma family means by "being cursed." It's also then that she meets Kureno, the rooster of the Sohma Curse.

She makes a wish then, hoping that she can do something to ultimately break the curse and set the family free from the bonds keeping them chained to the family. She also gets a rather heartfelt moment with Yuki, who wants to tell Tohru how special she is to her.

Eventually, after school starts, she has another run in with Rin, who has run away from the estate in order to try to find a way to break the curse for the sake of Hatsuharu. Tohru tries her best to try to take care of Rin, and the both of them eventually have a rather serious conversation. When Rin asks who Tohru what's most precious to her, Tohru begins to realize that her Mom isn't the one who's number one in her heart anymore -- which ultimately frightens her.

It isn't just that, Tohru finds out that one of her best friends, Arisa, is in love with Kureno Sohma. She sneaks into the estate in hopes of running into him and with the help of Momiji, she gives Kureno Arisa's number, along with a DVD with her saying that she misses him.

They meet up later on and Kureno confesses that he can't return Arisa's feelings. Although his own curse broke, he says he must stay by Akito's side. Tohru also learns that Akito is girl.

You could say that Tohru grows and matures through this season, not only through going through a new school year, but realizing just how serious the situation with the Sohma family actually is. She realizes just how hard it is for everyone involved in the family and makes a vow to do everything in her power to help them. However, this isn't a naïve wish by any means. She realizes she might not be able to do anything. Tohru also starts to confront her own more intense anxieties and worries. Not realizing what she wants to do with her life once she graduates, and ultimately beginning to confront demons from her past. There are times we sees her break down. Although there isn't a clear happy ending to this just yet, it is something she will need to face ingame.

    CANON: Avatar: the Last Airbender
NEW CANON POINT: after his Agni Kai with Azula, before his coronation and before reuniting with Mai lol sorry mai i like shipping
INFORMATION: I had originally taken him from right before his Agni Kai with Azula when I first app'd him in Prismatica last year, where he has CRAU memories from here in Avalon, because at that point it increased his panic about being spirited away, not knowing how things end up; now that he's been away from his home world so long and has learned how the war ends, and with the dynamic that developed between him and Azula in that time spirited away together, and most especially considering that Azula disappeared from Avalon not so long ago, I think this canon update will be compelling because it will prompt him to drastically reanalyze his relationship with his sister now that she's gone since he gained memories of their fight and her breakdown, as well as bringing a new perspective on his overall time spirited away for so long. He'll have a new scar from Azula's lightning striking him in the chest. I'm also establishing, to explain a hiatus, that he fell into a deep sleep for some time while his bond with his familiar strengthened, because it grew too weak after he fell into a depression about losing Azula and Uncle Iroh from this world at the same time. So this canon update will come on the heels of him waking up from this long slumber with his familiar, waking up with new memories and a new scar. Let me know if any of that doesn't sound kosher!

INFORMATION: The biggest overall change is that Ren will age up to 22. Three years pass in canon for him and he becomes a full ledged professional idol during that time. He learns to not judge his rivals just by their first impressions, learns to make compromises better. He is also shown to be a supportive friend to one of his long time rival-friends and bandmates, growing up to be more mature in the way he handles his relatiobship with him.

Overall, the changes aren't giant, but he does learn more everyday that he's loved and cared for by his friends and learns the value of how strong their bonds truly are.

    CHARACTER: Lee Jongndae
    CANON: The Secret World (OC)
NEW CANON POINT: Post-South Africa mission
INFORMATION: Since Jongdae has Ryslig CRAU, he was pulled out of the canonical timeline fairly early in the events of the game. It was not long after the bombing in Kaidan. This essentially would have taken place if he'd returned home first instead of coming directly to Avalon. He would then be aware of the events that took place in-game up to and including the South African mission. He got to fight a god on an island that's almost definitely going to be wiped off the planet by the Dreamers, got to stop an eldritch death cult from ending the world in Egypt, and fought vampires in Transylvania. So, you know... very busy Bee stuff.

As he worked with a small group within the Orochi organisation known as the Kusanagi Initiative, part of his job became looking into the Orochi's darker elements and secret projects. Much of this follows several missions investigating other facilities like the one he's from — one in London and the other in the Transylvanian mountains. He also encounters Lilith and it's not a very good time. This leads him back to Tokyo and Orochi HQ.

The South African mission is an undercover mission to infiltrate the Morninglight cult which is directly tied to Lilith and her plans. This all takes place over a period of roughly five years, so he gets to enjoy some time discrepancies among other things.

He's gotten more confident over time and has more or less dealt with his issue of being concerned that people will consider him a monster by his actions. He didn't really have time to think about that doing missions and everything else, so he's mostly come to terms with what he is. It's figuring out who he is and who he would like to be that will be his primary issues going forward since the work he'd have been doing for the past five years isn't exactly in line with his original goal of having a life where he chooses how he wants to live it.

    PLAYER NAME: Candace
    CHARACTER: Claude von Riegan
    CANON: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
NEW CANON POINT: Post-game (Verdant Wind route)
INFORMATION: At his current canon point, Claude had defeated the Adrestian Empire at Enbarr and rescued Rhea, the former Archbishop of the Church of Seiros. Having planned ahead for the Empire's potential defeat, Hubert left behind a letter detailing the true threat to Fódlan, a group who had been pulling the strings of various conflicts behind the scenes: Those Who Slither in the Dark (hereafter TWS, because... please....), and the location of their secret base, Shambhala.

Knowing the threat TWS present to Fódlan, with futuristic weapons and technology that could raze a fortress in the blink of an eye, Claude rallied his army and staged an attack on the secret base. Their leader, Thales, was defeated, but Rhea was grievously wounded protecting Byleth and the others in the battle.

As Rhea might not survive her wounds, Claude interrogated her for the full story behind the Church's secrets and the history of lies she had created to control Fódlan for a thousand years. She explained the truth behind the Heroes' Relics and how they were crafted from the bones of her deceased mother and siblings by Nemesis and the Ten Elites, and what she had done to Byleth in experimenting on her as a baby, placing Sothis's Crest Stone inside her in a misguided bid to bring Rhea's mother back to life. While they're talking, a messenger arrives with news: that Nemesis was back from the dead, and he was marching through Alliance territory towards Garreg Mach Monastery with his Ten Elites.

Claude, Byleth and their forces rally for a final battle against Nemesis, and, after a little trickery from Claude, are victorious in defeating him. With peace restored to the land and the war finally over, Fódlan is newly unified with Byleth as its Queen, who reigns from the former Leicester Alliance capital in Derdriu. Leaving Fódlan's affairs to her and their allies, Claude has his sights set on his wider vision, and crosses Fódlan's Throat to his homeland in the neighbouring kingdom of Almyra, to retake his place in the royal family under his true identity, Prince Khalid.

His ending card states that he remains a politically active prince, and after an unspecified amount of time (probably a year or two at most; he doesn't look significantly older in official art, so I'll go with a year), his father steps down from the throne to crown him King of Almyra. Khalid fosters peace between Fódlan and Almyra, as well as other neighbouring countries, establishing trade routes and sending reinforcements to Fódlan to quell any uprisings from TWS or Imperial loyalists. He strives to improve diplomatic relations with the eventual goal of seeing the fulfilment of his dream -- creating a unified world without borders, that cherishes differences in race and belief.

    CHARACTER: Horse
    CANON: Centaurworld
NEW CANON POINT: Post-Season 2 Finale
INFORMATION: Horse goes through some body changes after episode 6! In episode 7, Centaurworld's magic changes Horse's body to be more cartoon-y and round, and in the words of the show "like two beach balls had a weird kid". These changes distress her, as she's completely unrecognizable to herself. Not only that, but she's forgetting her Rider's face. She manages to get over it with the help of Wammawink, and finishes collecting the pieces of key/artifact so that she can go home.

Horse and Rider manage to reunite in the space between the human world and Centaurworld, but accidentally release the Nowhere King. Rider goes back to her world, and Horse returns to Centaurworld to form an army to protect it from the Nowhere King and his army. Season 2 is mostly about Horse trying to recruit centaurs to join in the battle, but she ends up feeling shuffled to the side and unimportant when she's unsuccessful at doing it herself, needing her Herd's help to do the recruiting. She ends up getting over this when she learns she has Backstory Magic, in which she learns about her friends' sad backstories.

After rallying the centaurs to join the war, it's time for everyone to fight. Horse uses her Backstory Magic to stall the Nowhere King, and learn about his history in the process. Rider nearly dies, and the Nowhere King is defeated. Horse and Rider end up living in Centaurworld, where Horse is offered to become a Shaman.

The big changes that will happen to Horse is that her body changes drastically. She learns to accept her new form, and overall chills out a lot more. She learns to love her Herd, which end up becoming her family.

    CHARACTER: Tsunayoshi Sawada
    CANON: Katekyou Hitman Reborn
NEW CANON POINT: End of the Ten Years Later/Future Arc
    INFORMATION:

Note: A lot happens in this arc, but I am going to try to focus solely on Tsuna's actions and development throughout the arc. For further information, the KHR wiki contains a more thorough summary and information about the lore.

Since his canon point, Tsuna and his companions entered Merone base with the intention of locating and apprehending Irie Shoichi, a member of the Millefiore family who they believe can provide clues that will get them back to the past.

Tsuna took their initial battle against Dendro Chilum, handily defeating him and showing off his new attack, the X-Burner, though it was an incomplete version (the move requiring a balance that is hard to gauge by instinct). As they were noticed by the enemy, Tsuna offerede to act as a distraction so that the others could advance further into the base. He faced off against several robots known as Strau Mosca, again defeating them when the power of his X-Burner. However, the power was too much and Tsuna fainted, and he was captured by the enemy.

Spanner, his captor and creator of the Moscas, was impressed with the X-Burner and wanted to see the completed version. Tsuna was forced to wait as Spanner developed a pair of contact lenses that would allow Tsuna to have the balance he needed. Before the lenses could be completed, Spanner and Tsuna were attacked by another Millefiore member, Iris, who took Spanner's helping Tsuna as an act of betrayal.

Tsuna fought Iris while Spanner completed the lenses, doing so in the nick of time. Merone Base was starting to break due to the battles being fought by Tsuna and his Guardians. With Iris defeated, Tsuna headed back towards his friends with Spanner in tow. But before he could reach them and the research laboratory, Tsuna had to face off against another Millefiore, Genkishi. Tsuna was ultimately the victor and made his way to the laboratory where he faced off against Shoichi.

Shoichi then revealed that he was actually working for the Vongola family and had worked with the Tsuna of the future to bring their past versions forward, as they were the key to defeating Byakuran. Merone base was devised as a way to accelerate training and allow everyone to get stronger quickly. However, Byakuran knew all this, allowed it to happen, and challenges Tsuna and the Vongola to a game of Choice, a war game that would ultimately determine the fate of the world. Tsuna and Co. were given ten days to train and rest up.

However, as they begin their preparations, they are overheard by Kyoko and Haru, the non-combatants of the group who have been supporting the others by doing chores around the base. They effectively strike until they are told what is going on, something Tsuna has been reluctant to reveal. The situation they are in is a dangerous one, and Tsuna does not want to expose them to unnecessary harm. But after a lot of reflection, and the fact that the boys are helpless at doing the chores and training, he eventually relents. He speaks to Kyoko and Haru, laying out everything since the very beginning and apologizes for not trusting them. And Kyoko is able to provide some insight for Tsuna with regards to his own training.

Eventually, the day of the Choice Battle arrives. While Tsuna is able to overcome his opponent, Torikabuto, the Vongola ultimately lose the game of Choice. Shoichi attempts to demands a rematch, but Byakuran denies it, only to be overruled by Uni, the secondary leader of the Millefiore family, who has been in a suspended state until this moment. With Byakuran's reluctance evident, Uni asks Tsuna for protection, and after a time of hesitation, the Vongola ultimately flee with Uni in tow. They do not get a chance for respite though, as they are pursued by Byakuran and his elite soldiers. With little choice, they head into the woods for a place to make a last stand.

For the first portions of the battle, Tsuna stays behind as part of the last line of defence, trusting the others to take over and being grateful when powerful allies like the Varia join them. When Byakuran sends Ghost, a version of himself from a parallel world and his final soldier, Tsuna springs into action. However, Ghost's ability is to absorb the flames of everyone around him, and Byakuran is able to use that power to greatly strengthen himself. Thus begins the final showdown.

While Tsuna puts up a valiant effort, Byakuran overpowers him and is almost prepared to deliver a final blow. However, Reborn speaks up, reminding Tsuna of what is at stake and the promise that he made to his friends. It is enough to revive Tsuna, who states that doesn't regret coming to the future even though it has been a painful and difficult time and that he will continue to oppose Byakuran. This awakens the will of Vongola Primo, who unlocks the seal on the Vongola rings, allowing them to take their true form and awaken greater power within Tsuna.

The next round of the battle begins, with Tsuna overpowering Byakuran this time and pushing him to fight with all of his strength. It is a tense fight, coming to a head when Uni begins to use her power to revive the Arcobaleno, an act that will result in her death. This enrages Byakuran, who needs Uni's power to complete his goal of taking over the world so that he can remake it to his liking. But Uni passes away, leaving Byakuran enraged and turning on Tsuna, blaming him for Uni's actions. Tsuna replies that it was Byakuran who pushed Uni to such an act and that he will never forgive him. They both launch a final attack, with Tsuna's X-Burner overcoming Byakuran, who disappears in the flames.

With Byakuran defeated and the Arcobaleno revived, everyone is able to return to the past. Tsuna and his friends bid farewell to the friends that they made in the future, and return home, to a point just before they left. It is in between where Chapter 282 ends and Chapter 283 begins that Tsuna will return to the game.

Tsuna grows a lot in this particular arc. He is pushed into the position of Boss and has to start making decisions that have a lot of impact, and is faced with a lot of intense training and battles that cause him to grow up in a short period of time. He has to shed the cowardly sides of himself, and learn to trust his allies, whether it is with a battle or with information. And he comes to accept that the painful parts of life are just as important to him, even if he doesn't like them at the time. But at his core, he remains the same: someone who will do anything he can to protect the people who are most precious to him.

NEW CANON POINT: post 6.0 Endwalker
    INFORMATION:

    MINOR ENDWALKER SPOILERS BELOW

In the long run, Gaius has very little personal involvement in the events of Endwalker, but he does provide the Warrior of Light and the scions information in how to traverse the harsh lands of Garlemald, and toward the end of the expansion he also provides materials left behind by late Imperial Legatus van Varro to the Warrior of Light to aid in building the ship that will take the Warrior and the Scions to the edge of the universe.

The important thing Gaius gets from this canon update is the reassurance that the end of the world is officially canceled, and that not only can the rebuilding of Werlyt continue, but also his people and homeland are now safe, and perhaps the rebuilding of Garlemald itself can begin as well.

    CANON: Final Fantasy XIV
NEW CANON POINT: post 6.0 Endwalker
INFORMATION: Her travels have continued as a matriarch of her Keeper family and mother, and her personality hasn't changed much if at all outside of growing more focused on the world around them. She's currently investigating the effects of Reaper possession around Ilsabard, in an attempt to help someone from her past, and has grown quite a bit as a healer as well.

She has also witnessed the effects of the Final Days around the region, and her resolve to assist people is stronger than ever.

Having worked to assist those who have survived the Blasphemy attacks, and having fought off some herself, she's been amping up her work as a healer and adventurer and also aims to assist the Warrior of Light whenever they need it. For now, having her own life to worry about, she's returned to her home to her family until the call of adventure beckons again- so she'll probably be grumpy at being returned here :'D
